$RICK token surpasses $PEPE on DEXTools with Elon Musk tweet. Possible insider trading for meme coin?
The latest meme coin on Uniswap, Pick Or Rick (RICK) token, was inspired by an episode of the cartoon Rick and Morty on Adult Swim, with the apparent help of an Elon Musk tweet.
Today, the RICK/WETH pair made the top ten list of hot pairs on DEXTools, at points being the #1 trending token, even higher than Pepe (PEPE).
The coin was launched on June 2nd at 22:00 UTC and has since pumped 16,000% in the past 24 hours, which is not uncommon for a newly listed meme coin with a low market cap and few holders. Currently, there are only 467 holders of $RICK token.

Elon Musk Tweets About Rick and Morty Episode
New meme coins are often launched as a reaction to things celebrities say or do, without their knowledge or association with the projects, which usually have anonymous developers.
‘Pickle Rick’, the third episode of season three of the Adult Swim animated television series Rick and Morty, has inspired the Pick Or Rick coin. This is not the first time a TV show has inspired a meme coin, as a SpongeBob Squarepants themed token went viral last month.
It is unlikely that Elon Musk is behind or even aware of Pick Or Rick token, but this may be further ammunition for his detractors, who have recently accused him of insider trading of Dogecoin (DOGE).
Elon Musk is not new to such accusations, as he has previously faced charges of profiting from market manipulation by changing the Twitter icon to a Shiba Inu dog image, the logo of DOGE.
Pick Or Rick Coin Claims Responsibility
Following the tweet above, the @pickorrick Twitter account, created on May 25th, posted a tongue-in-cheek claim that it was their doing:
Mission accomplished we got @elonmusk to tweet about Pickle Rick $rickcoin #pickorrick. Launching tomorrow 10pm UTC.
Last month, a crypto token called SLUTS ($SLUTS) pumped shortly after Andrew Tate went viral for calling crypto traders ‘sluts’ for ‘gambling on shitcoins’. However, it retraced its initial pump shortly after, and it remains to be seen how well $RICK token will perform.
Elon Musk Tweets at Meme Coin Account
Elon has also recently tweeted directly at the account of an upcoming meme token, Wall Street Memes (WSM).
While he may not be aware of their crypto project, Elon replied to a meme posted by the @wallstmemes account and also replied to the same account on a second occasion, tagging their handle when replying to the Shiba Inu founder Shibetoshi Nakamoto.
The wallstmemes.com presale has been one of the fastest growing cryptocurrency projects, having raised over $3 million in the past week.
