Apple to launch two Mac products at WWDC.

There are rumors that Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL), the American multinational technology giant, will unveil two highly anticipated Mac models at the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) next week. These speculations are based on the fact that the company has started testing two desktop Macs that are equipped with M2 Max and ‌M2‌ Ultra chips.

The two models are internally labeled as Mac 14,13 and Mac 14,14, both running on the M2 Max processor. The M2 Max chip was first mentioned in January during the launch of the 2023 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. The M2 Ultra chip is new and replaces the M1 Ultra which Apple has been using in the Mac Studio, the company’s high-end desktop released last year.

There were rumors that the revamped Apple Silicon Mac Pro would include the M2 Ultra chip, but the Mac Pro that Apple is working on is internally labeled as “14,8”. This suggests that the desktop machines currently being tested may be new versions of the ‌Mac Studio. Apple is also expected to release new iMacs with M3 chips very soon.

Apple to Attract Customers with New Mac Products

Apple is focusing on revamping the Mac line with new computers and attracting more customers, especially since there is a lull in the computer industry. The company has been doing well in that regard, as evidenced by its earnings report for the second fiscal quarter beating Wall Street’s expectations.

According to Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, iPhone sales for the last quarter were “better than we expected”, with revenue jumping by 2% despite a general decline in the smartphone market of 15%. Apple’s Chief of Finance Luca Maestri also said, “We expect our June quarter year-over-year revenue performance to be similar to the March quarter assuming that the macroeconomic outlook does not worsen from what we are projecting today for the current quarter.”

Over time, it has been discovered that Apple’s powerful desktop models appeal strongly to professional users like graphic designers and video editors.

The first device that Apple has been working on includes an ‌M2‌ Max chip with eight high-performance cores, four efficiency cores, a 30-core GPU, and 96GB RAM. It is worth noting that the chip is the same as the one in the ‌M2‌ Max version of the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The second device has 16 high-performance cores and 8 efficiency cores with the M2 Ultra chip.

Additionally, Apple has recently partnered with Broadcom Inc (NASDAQ: AVGO), a multinational semiconductor and infrastructure software firm, to design and produce its 5G components.
